7th Adventure

[Phone call filtered from drones:]
Okay, okay, I get it now. I get why all of you kept telling me that this place is really that awful! I try to look on the good side of it all - being human and alive again has been wonderful for the most part - but that... That was truly awful! The lowest of the low! How does whoever that was harassing the Mayor expect us to ever be thankful! It was their fault, right? Making everyone suffer like that, to... to die i-in such terrible ways, to... [The strong voice had started to waver and crack a bit, but she clears her throat and continues.]

A-Anyway! Just because it's over now and things look back to normal, don't think we'll forget. I know I won't!

[She tries to hide a sniffle, when the sound of a drone man's voice asks what she's doing making such a racket on the phone when dinner's not finished yet. Aurora simply sighs and hangs up.]

---

[Action: After a stop off at the bakery for a few dozen cookies - she still hasn't gotten the hang of baking them herself - Aurora will be knocking on all the doors on Bilko Boulevard. There's a sweet-looking young lady at your door, offering a smile and some snacks.]

Hi there! My name's Aurora, and I live nearby! I wanted to say hi. I really never did introduce myself to all my neighbors.

That's... really nice of you. Thanks! [Nall knows lots of nice people in Mayfield, but it's kind of a pleasant surprise to have one just knock on the door!]

We've got a couple of types of tea. Earl grey, mint... I think some camomile...

Oh, it's nothing! I've been meaning to do this for awhile, and... Well, I didn't feel like sitting in a house full of drones, so I figured now was a good time.

Umm... Any is fine, I'm sure!

[identity profile] catslooklikeme.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
You're all alone in a house full of drones? That's rough... I'm sorry to hear it. I hope you've made some good friends since you arrived... if not, you'll just have to come hang out here! Of course, you can feel free to do that anyway!

[identity profile] forever-cheery.livejournal.com 2011-12-04 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. It gets... weird after awhile. And yes, I have! That's the good thing about this place. The people are just wonderful.

Oh, really? Thanks! I'll have to bring something else to eat next time. [She grins.]

[identity profile] catslooklikeme.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
There are a lot of nice people here, despite the things that happen... I'm glad you've got good friends. It makes a world of difference.

[More food? Sweeeet.]

I don't mind providing some food to the party myself. You like fish?

[identity profile] forever-cheery.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Fish? [She thinks on that.] You know, I don't know if I've had it since I've been here. I'm willing to try it!

[identity profile] catslooklikeme.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't mean to brag [but he kind of DOES] but I make a mean fish based dish. Baked, fried, you name it, I can do it! If you'd like to stay for dinner, I'll make a tuna noodle casserole!

[identity profile] forever-cheery.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, really? That's so nice of you! Sure, I'd be glad to. Um, I don't really know how to cook, but I can help somehow, I'm sure.

[identity profile] catslooklikeme.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
It's alright, I'm used to it. I do a lot of cooking back home... for like, thirty people. None of whom like fish quite as much as I do, but everyone's got their own preference!

[identity profile] forever-cheery.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
That many people, really? I've been trying to learn how to cook here, but it's hard. The drone family assumes I know how... We eat a lot of those "TV dinners"...

[identity profile] catslooklikeme.livejournal.com 2011-12-07 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yea, I kind of run an orphanage back home. I like to teach the kids to cook for themselves, but sometimes it takes a while, so I end up doing it.

[Nall makes a face. He's not a fan of anything related to the "tee-vee thing".]

I've been learning how to make some non-fish-based dishes for my roomies here. They, like my kids, don't enjoy fish as much as I do... I can give you some of the easier recipes if you want!

[identity profile] forever-cheery.livejournal.com 2011-12-08 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
An orphanage? That's so nice of you!

Oh, okay! I really should learn, already.

[identity profile] catslooklikeme.livejournal.com 2011-12-09 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
I have a lot of time... I wanted to do something good with it. And I like kids! They're fun, and they keep me very busy!

It's not so bad, once you get a handle on the basics. It took me a while to get used to at first. Cut my hands a lot peeling potatoes at first, but once you get the knack for it, it's not bad.

[identity profile] forever-cheery.livejournal.com 2011-12-09 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be sure to be careful, then! I know I can do it.
